Memorial Services for Mr. Larry Dewitt Johnson, 69 of Talladega, will be Tuesday, February 26th at 6:30 pm at Talladega Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Huffaker officiating. Friends are welcome to begin arriving at the funeral home at 5 pm Tuesday. Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday afternoon at his residence. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Talladega County, and of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Talladega Super Speedway after 39 years of dedicated service. He is preceded in death by his son Lonnie Wayne Herrington, two brothers Richard Johnson and Earl Johnson, and one sister Maudie Lawson. He leaves behind his loving wife Alice Faye Brown Johnson, one son Larry Dale Johnson, three daughters Yvonne Renae Harrison, Dana Herrington Ellison, and Vicki Lee Johnson, one brother Billy Joe Johnson, and two sisters Dot Wesson and Johnnie Mae Sherrell. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kelly Johnston, Kevin Perley, Dylan Perley, Courtney Ballard, Issac Humphrey, Samantha Herrington, Michael Johnson, Krystal Parker, and Brook McCrary, and his great grandchildren Dalton Perley, Jaxon Perley, Jayda Mims, Cayden Johnson, Skylar McCrary, Conner Parker, and Andrew Parker.
